Between 2001 and 2003, the group completed a programme of activities that was funded by Know Racism, Combat Poverty and Dublin Inner City Partnership. These included;

• consultation sessions with representatives of ethnic minority communities and local statutory and community service providers;
• an information fair; a debate on multiculturalism;
• anti racism training; a celebratory intercultural event;
• production of translated maps of local services for ethnic minority communities and an appendix to this map with additional information.
• publication of intercultural best practice in local service provision
        (Guidelines for Intercultural Best Practice, 327KB, PDF).

The group won a MAMA Award (Media and Multicultural Award) from Metro Eireann for good practice guide.

Current activities

• Involved in drawing up an Anti-Racism Strategy for the Inner City
• Updating and republishing the good pratcice guideon inter-culturalism and link with other groups of the Network in implementing the code.
• Developing culture proofing guidelines to support and influence the       Network groups
• Organising and implementing cultural awareness mechanisms, e.g. running cultural awareness days for the local community.
• Exploring the viability of setting up an Intercultural centre in North Inner City in conjunction with ICON.
